It has been more than 42years since owner Art Baleisis purchased Bertha Boatworks in 1977, which was a fledgling marine dealer on the south shores of Bertha Lake, part of the Whitefish Chain of Lakes. Back then, the dealership sold a few boats and offered service and fuel.

Art never intended to be the biggest boat dealer in the Brainerd Lakes Area, only the best. He wanted to provide the best customer service and sell the best equipment on the market, which is what his customers on the Whitefish Chain expect.
