Bertha Boatworks stores boats, pontoons, and personal watercraft through the off season and gets them ready the moment the ice is out. Storage includes indoor buildings and full shrink wrap for boats kept outdoors, boat slips inside our protected marina, gas dock fuel access, and pickup and delivery from your own lift. We service the Brainerd Lakes area and some customers farther out.

Our Storage And Winterization Process
Engine And Fuel System Prep
We fog the engine, drain or stabilize the fuel, change the fuel filter, and change the lower unit outdrive lubricant.
Water And Battery Service
We purge water from the block and lower unit, drain water from the hull, and service the battery so nothing freezes or corrodes over winter.
Inspection
We check the propeller and skeg condition before your boat goes into storage, catching wear before it becomes a spring problem.
Storage
We store your boat indoors or apply a full outdoor shrink wrap, whichever fits your boat and your budget.
Spring Ready
In spring, we charge, clean, and check the battery, recheck every lubricant, check all electrical systems, and lake test the boat before it goes back in the water.

Storage Questions Answered
Winter storage includes fogging the engine, purging water from the block and lower unit, draining water from the hull, servicing the battery, draining or stabilizing the fuel, changing the lower unit outdrive lubricant, changing the fuel filter, checking propeller and skeg condition, and storing your boat indoors or under a full shrink wrap. An oil change is available at an additional charge.

Drop in service means you call ahead and give us the dates you want your boat in the water. We put it in ready for your arrival, and when you are finished, we pull it out and place it in one of our storage buildings.
Yes. Our well protected marina has boat slips available to rent for anyone who wants to keep a boat in the water throughout the season without owning waterfront.
An oil change is not included in standard winter storage, but it is available at an additional charge. Let our service team know when you schedule your storage and we will take care of it.
