A Minnesota winter is hard on an engine that has not been properly prepared, and a cracked block from frozen water in the cooling system is one of the most expensive mistakes an owner can make. Every winterization we perform is a premium winterization. We drain the fuel and treat what remains with Stabil fuel stabilizer, run the engine up and fog the cylinders, and drain the cooling system of standing water. On I/O and inboard outdrive engines, we also run RV antifreeze through the block to fill it with anti-rust inhibitors and protect it through the cold months.
We also offer kicker engine winterization, a focused engine run-up and fogging service for auxiliary kicker motors.

How Outboard Winterization Works
Fuel Stabilization
We drain the fuel tank and treat what remains with Stabil fuel stabilizer to prevent fuel breakdown and varnish buildup over the off season.
Engine Run-Up And Fogging
The engine is run up and fogged, coating internal cylinder surfaces to prevent corrosion through winter storage.
Cooling System Drain
We drain water from the cooling system to prevent a cracked block from freezing over winter storage.
RV Antifreeze For I/O And Inboard Drives
On I/O and inboard outdrive engines, we run RV antifreeze through the block to fill it with anti-rust inhibitors and protect it through the cold months.
